Raja Ravi Varma (1848-1906)

    Raja Ravi Varma was a great indian painter from the princely state of Travancore who achieved recognition for his depiction of scenes from the epics of the Mahabharata and Ramayana. His paintings are considered to be among the best examples of the fusion of Indian traditions.
Most of Raja Ravivarma oil paintings are based on Hindu epic stories and characters. In 1873 he won the First Prize at the Madras Painting Exhibition. He became a world famous Indian painter after winning in 1873 Vienna Exhibition.

ഉറുമി (URUMI)
Urumi (Malayalamഉറുമി ) is an upcoming Malayalam epic film directed by Santosh Sivan. It stars Prithviraj, Genelia D'Souza[2] and Prabhu Deva,[3] and features Vidya Balan,[4] Tabu and Vikram in cameo appearances. The film is being simultaneously made in English under the title The Boy Who Wanted To Kill Vasco Da Gama.[5] The film is produced by Prithviraj, Shaji Natesan and Santosh Sivan under their new production company, August Cinema.[6] The movie is being made at a budget of more than 20 crore rupees, making it the second most expensive Malayalam film ever made after Pazhassi Raja.[1]
